Martin, HPC Solution Architect and friend

Created by Lawrence 4 years ago

I had the good fortune to meet and work with Martin at Rolls-Royce while working for HPE.
I was the project manager and Martin the Solution Architect and Technical Lead for delivering the new High-Performance Compute environment for Rolls-Royce. We were a small team, with Martin the HPC guru, offering advice guidance and support to all of the project team and the wider organisation. To say Martin was a brilliant engineer wouldn’t do him justice. We became good colleagues while working on the delivery of some extremely challenging projects for Rolls-Royce, my respect and admiration for him as an engineer put him above any other had worked with in the past and since. We became good friends with mutual respect for each other in the knowledge we could always work through problems and issues together without a single disagreement. It is rare to meet individuals that you click with on a professional and personal level which makes the loss so hard to accept.
It was a real pleasure and an honour to have worked with you and to have had you as a friend. Rest well and in peace my friend.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Beverly, Melissa and Ash.

The photos are two happy memories when we did manage to meet up after I move on from HPE to work for Rolls-Royce. Deepti, Mehul, Lee and Carole, Lawrence with Martin.

The second photo is of Martin, Mat and Lawrence at the reunion meal at the Vice Roy in Derby. We three worked well together and formed a bond between us along with Deepti who was the other project manager working alongside us.
